Norðrland is more than the setting of a story. It is a world where ancient forests preserve memories, where the mist conceals what should remain unseen, and where the roots of Yggdrasil reach deeper than any human could ever fathom.
Along ancient paths and in forgotten places live creatures that, at first glance, seem little more than legends. Woodcats watch silently among moss and bark, Flamewings carry their warmth through the darkness, and Aquawispers sing softly of Yggdrasil’s tears.
And somewhere among all these stories walks Nyxer. Born of night, grown from earth.

Not every secret of Norðrland finds its place in a novel. Some stories are older than Eirik and Freyja. Others begin where their journey has already moved on.

Stories Beyond the Books
Yggdrasil
Rooted deep within Norðrland stands Yggdrasil. Its history reaches further back than human memory. From its bark, its tears and even its wounds came creatures that still roam Norðrland today.
The Woodcats
Small, almost invisible inhabitants of the forests. Among moss, bark and earth, they blend seamlessly into their surroundings. They watch, they warn and often know long before humans do when something in the forest begins to change.
The Flamewings
Born from an ancient scar in Yggdrasil, they carry warmth through the darkness. Within them live the innocent souls of animals that have passed, and every spark reminds us that even after an ending, something may remain.
Die Aquawisper
Born from the tears of Yggdrasil. They can be found wherever water grows still enough to listen. Their quiet song belongs to the oldest voices of Norðrland.
Nyxer
Born of night, grown from earth. The black mist stag with ivory antlers is far more than a creature of the forest. His story is bound to Yggdrasil, Freyja and the fate of Norðrland.
The Elements of Norðrland
Aquilith, Terragor, Zephyria, Pyrothos and Luminis flow through the world in different ways. Their powers are part of an ancient balance whose true meaning is revealed only gradually.
Not everything that lives in Norðrland has yet been discovered. And not everything that waits in the mist wishes to be found.

Was im Wasser wartet
The next journey through Norðrland leads beneath the waters of the Lysfjord. Hidden from the human world lies Vaelaris, an ancient city whose people have lived in silence for generations.
Not Everything Unknown Is a Threat
Human nets are destroying the Vaelaren’s breeding grounds, rare plants and ancient waterways. When they try to defend their home, they are mistaken for a threat. A story about misunderstanding, responsibility and the fragile possibility of peace.
Music from Norðrland
When Stories Find a Voice
Ulrike Loacker draws inspiration from my stories of Norðrland and transforms their atmosphere into music in her own distinctive way. Following Was im Nebel wartet, she also created two musical interpretations for Das Moor erinnert.
Through this, words and music become different paths leading into the same world.
